NEWSFLASH: Build-A-Bear Recall

Build-A-Bear Workshop, a popular children’s retailer chain, has issued a voluntary recall on one of their stuffed toy products.  As a movie release tie-in, a popular character from the movies Monsters Inc and Monsters University, Sulley, was made available as a stuff-able bear option.  However, the item is being recalled, in both the U.S. and Canada, due to the ease in which the plastic eyes can detach from the toy, causing a choking hazard.

The stuffed toys in question were imported directly from China by Build-A-Bear and sold in-store and online during the month of June 2013.  While there were no reported injuries prior to the voluntary recall, the company strongly urges that the buyers of over 25,000 units in the U.S and 1,100 units in Canada bring the hazardous bear back to store in exchange for a coupon for an alternative style option.
